| Description |
Responsible for the design and day-to-day maintenance of clients website. Coordinates web developments and content, monitors web activities and incorporates new technologies and enhancements into the web servers. Works with web development cell in implementing web systems designs. The webmaster works across the platform to ensure that the websites accurately reflects and supports the activities in the external and internal community. In addition the design skills of the webmaster help produce high-quality, in-house media e.g. for print or other forms of multimedia content dissemination.
Creates new web pages and updates existing web pages as necessary. Makes sure that sites are configured and work correctly and all links are active. Archives old web pages and ensures consistency in level of content and look and feel across the website.
Maintains image database for the use on the website. Provides support to all levels of users and site visitors and encourages timeliness and accuracy of web page information and resolution of problems. Assists with the design of other electronic media such as emails, newsletters, surveys, polls, podcasts and e-cards as required.
Co-operating the with IT Team Lead, assists and trains those in departments who publish content on the websites in designing, streamlining and maintaining web pages using HTML or other software.
Co-operates with IT team on issues of hardware or software that affect the web site and in implementing and developing web systems and structure.
Develops website infrastructure, utilizes applications to ensure good technical performance and assesses new technologies for applicability to web servers.
Works to integrate technically and legally with other clients and IT Cell infrastructure as necessary and ensures relevant data security as necessary.
Monitors the usage and traffic of website and provides regular reports on performance.
Works with the IT Development Cell, advises management on the budgetary requirements of running and maintaining their interests on websites and serves as a point of contact for website development projects.
Acts as contact point for Data Protection Act and Freedom Of Information requests related to the websites.
Works with IT Development Cell, liaises with service vendors and consultants as necessary to enhance the quality of the website.
Collaborates with the Communications Coordinator and clients constantly update and renew web content.
From time to time undertakes tasks as required by IT Team Lead. |
